School Library

Our Library is our Heart

Our library is the room that students would prefer to be in at school.
It is not the quietest library you will ever visit, but we are bristling with books!
Most of our collection is made up of student requests. It is a very rewarding moment when the student comes to us to talk about books.
Knowing our audience – knowing our young patrons; what they like, what interests them is the key to providing a relevant collection with high interest content.
We champion a number of reading initiatives…The Victorian Premier’s Annual Reading Challenge, our Year 7 “Mission Possible” reading program, Book Week every August. We are a “Love2Read” School and we deck out the library every term with a theme. Term One this year was “Horror V Humour”. Term Two boasted the tag “Food, Glorious Food!” and this term our Book Week theme is “Reading To Connect – Connect To Reading”. We are hosting a Morning Tea to celebrate Book Week and a visit from the Mornington Shire Mayor to present our College Library with an iPad as a prize for a survey our students from our College completed.
With everything that we have going on during a year, we can understand why we are THE place to be – Location, Location!
