COURSE DESCRIPTION
For Year 9 Drama, students will gain an understanding of how dramatic elements are utilised in performance in order to convey meaning to an audience. Students will also be using theatrical conventions affiliated with various theatrical styles to enhance the performance making process, and to understand how famous practitioners and thespians are able to manipulate an audience’s reactions.
Throughout the semester long subject, there will be a focus on anthropomorphism and how characters can be developed from specific traits of animals. How Meyerhold’s use of mask enables characters to be born anew, and lastly how naturalism is portrayed in various forms of media.
