COURSE DESCRIPTION

Do you want to be fitter, stronger, healthier? You will be learning about muscles, healthy eating, energy systems, training principles and training techniques.  This subject blends theory with practical components and allows for the development of individual fitness and training programs. This elective will equip students with the strategies to improve fitness and develop training programs for individual and team sports. Theory based laboratory activities, projects and practical sessions are used to develop a basic knowledge of the body systems and fitness components. Practical sessions are utilised to develop an understanding of fitness training principles, with the ultimate goal of developing personalised training programs. Practical sessions include community-based activities with fitness centres and University Sports Science facilities. (VCE PE related)
