Educational Skills Profiling Week
In addition to liaising with primary schools during Grade 6 to understand our new students’ strengths and areas for improvement, we also conduct a series of educational assessments to help us understand achievement levels in literacy and numeracy. We will be asking parents and or carers to bring your child to an after-school testing session so that we can gain additional information to ensure that we are able to start supporting your child’s educational needs from day one of 2023. Collecting and understanding student learning data allows us to plan for differentiated instruction to make sure every student has an appropriately challenging and stimulating learning environment that reflects their needs.

This profiling is not an entrance test, students don’t pass or fail, and it is not a conclusive statement of a student’s ability. It is just one of the measures we use to inform a snapshot of each child to allow us to better understand, monitor and support their development.

Week 7 to Week 9
Early Transition Sessions
By invite only

Our Early Transition Sessions are designed to provide additional, targeted support to students who have been identified by their current Primary school teachers. Families will be sent information regarding the sessions and required to confirm their child's attendance.

There will be three, one hour sessions over the three week period, prior to the statewide Orientation Day on Tuesday 13 December.

Orientation Day
The Year 7 Orientation Day happens in December of the year prior to starting. It’s a great opportunity for students to spend a day at the school to meet some of their teachers and classmates, familiarise themselves with the campus, and learn how to become involved in co-curricular activities.

Parents are also invited to an information session on the day to meet other Year 7 families and some of our current Year 7 students as well as have an opportunity to have an information session on how to support your child in their first few months of secondary school.
